Seed Pod

I found this large, funky-looking seed pod beneath some trees near the corner of Adelaide St. E. and Jarvis near my home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Great brownish-bordeaux colour with the bonus of rattling when shaken.  There were many more on the ground for the taking and shaking.
