Pomelo
5" x 8", pencil, pen & watercolour
This was a large Pomelo that I picked up recently. I was sure that I had eaten them as a kid, but I couldn't remember what they tasted like. In my mind I thought that they must have been similar to a grapefruit in taste and texture. In reality the Pomelo was like a very large, mild, slightly floral grapefruit without the mess of excessive juice, which made it convenient to peel and eat. I had expected the pith/peel to be thick as well, but it wasn't. The membrane did need to be peeled before eating, though. It would have been too bitter and fibrous otherwise.
